Terms & Conditions

All purchases made from J.M. Wickramarachchi & Co. are subject to the following terms and conditions.

1) Optical Products

1.1 Returns & Exchanges 

  • Frames and accessories may be exchanged within 7 days, provided they are unused, in their original condition, and accompanied by a valid receipt. 
  • Prescription lenses, contact lenses, and customized optical products are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once processed. 
  • Products damaged after purchase or due to misuse or mishandling are not eligible for return or exchange. 
  • Items marked as “Clearance” or “Final Sale” are sold as-is and are non-refundable, non-exchangeable, and not covered by warranty. 

1.2 Warranty 

  • Selected branded frames and lenses include a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty covering manufacturing and material defects only. 
  • This warranty does not cover accidental damage, scratches, breakage, misuse, general wear and tear, or unauthorized repairs. 
  • Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. 
  • Warranty eligibility is determined solely by the manufacturer. 

1.3 Payment Terms 

  • A 50% advance payment is required at the time of order unless otherwise agreed in writing. 
  • Products will be released only upon full payment. 

2)Hearing Aid Products

2.1 Returns & Exchanges 

  • Hearing aids are non-refundable and non-exchangeable after purchase. 
  • Customers are encouraged to complete a pre-purchase trial to ensure product suitability (refer to Section 3 – Hearing Aid Trials). 
  • 2.2 Servicing & Maintenance 
  • Devices must be serviced by authorized personnel only. 
  • Out-of-warranty repairs will be chargeable. 
  • Regular servicing is recommended every 6 months for optimal performance. 

2.3 Warranty 

  • All branded hearing aids come with a 1-year limited international warranty, valid from the date of purchase. 
  • The warranty covers manufacturing and material defects in the hearing aid unit. 
  • It excludes accessories such as batteries, tubes, ear modules, and external receivers. 
  • The warranty becomes valid only upon presentation of proof of purchase. 
  • The warranty is void in the following cases: 
  • Improper handling or neglect 
  • Damage due to moisture, chemical exposure, or physical stress 
  • Repairs by unauthorized service centers 
  • Services provided by third-party hearing care professionals 
  • Battery leakage caused by improper use 

2.4 Payment Terms

3) Hearing Aid Trial Policy

3.1 Eligibility & Process 

  • Trials are offered prior to purchase to assess product suitability. 
  • A hearing evaluation must be completed before initiating a trial. 

3.2 Trial Period 

  • The standard trial period is 14 days, depending on the device and availability. 

3.3 Security Deposit 

  • A refundable deposit is required to begin the trial. 
  • The full deposit will be returned upon timely return of the device in its original condition. 

3.4 Conditions & Responsibilities 

  • Devices must be returned in the same condition they were issued. 
  • Loss or damage to the trial unit may result in partial or full forfeiture of the deposit. 
  • If the customer proceeds with a purchase, the deposit can be credited toward the final bill. 
  • Non-returned devices may result in additional charges or conversion to a sale. 
  • Only one trial per customer is permitted unless otherwise authorized by management.
